Ok so I shouldn’t really be posting about this just yet, as the item in question is actually a gift for a friend of mine who is due to become a proud parent in a month’s time, but I couldn’t resist. I mean, JUST LOOK AT HOW CUTE THEY ARE!
These teeny, fleece trousers are from a pattern I found on a website called Fleece Fun – you can find the pattern here – and are very simple to make. I already had some plain cream fleece and some cool dinosaur print fleece in my material box so it was the perfect project for a Sunday afternoon!
The trousers are made from two pieces of fleece each and involve lots of inside out sewing. There’s an elasticated waistband round the top to make sure they stay up too. The pattern I used was for age 3-6 months – though the finished size looks more newborn to me! I’m slightly concerned that they won’t fit over the top of baby-to-be’s nappy but we shall see. All I can say is that if they don’t fit, there’s going to be one well-dressed teddy bear out there!
Now it’s time to get them in an envelope – alongside my other new baby present – and shipped off to their new home. I can’t wait!
