Fashion Statement 5. OSCARS 2011

The OSCARS. Naturally one of the most glamourous events on the social, media and celebrity calendar. And an incredible excuse for the most talented of women to show off the size of their quilted Chanel purses and wow the world with their choice of exquisite gown. If I was there, I’d choose one of these:

Stunning Scarlett. I love lace detail, and this Dolce & Gabbana floor-sweeper certainly has that. On anyone else this plum coloured gown would probably look like a pair of your grandma's net curtains, but on Scarlett there's something Marilyn-esque. Lovely.

Florence Welch graced the red carpet in Valentino Couture. The layering of the skirt is wonderful on the eye, and the ivory tones complement her hair colour as if it was an art. Florence is rapidly becoming one of my fashion icons, and in this dress it's clear to see why.

Mila look a million dollars in this floaty, lavender, lace-laden Elie Saab couture gown. The colour of this dress is just beautiful, and makes the Black Swan star look super elegant and feminine. I'm in love.

Fashion Statement 3. GRAMMYS 2011

The best frocks of the 2011 Grammys? These are the ones I’d choose…
Selena Gomez, normally clad in Disney-friendly jeans and t-shirts, absolutely shines in a shimmering J Mendel gown. The colour against her skintone looks more sumptous than a glass of expensive champagne.

Florence looks quite stunning in her Givenchy gown. I love the way her hair clashes so beautifully with the orange back. So wrong yet so right. And as for the pattern.. just gorgeous.
